Membership has its' priviledges
IHDA continues to encourage communication among all HUSTLE dance enthusiasts and professionals by establishing a worldwide event calendar of recommended hustle dance events, clubs, activities and dances.
By becoming a member you not only gain great advantages but you also help to keep hustle dancing alive. So come join the many who are part of this Organization.
Membership Proceeds
When signing up as a member all proceeds that derive from the membership dues go back to our members in several ways:
- The Meet and Greet parties for our social and competitive dancers which provides food and drinks along with a free workshop.
- Cash Prizes to the winners of the Competition Points Award. IHDA will compensate those Amateurs, Professionals and Teachers who have worked hard competing and promoting the dance hustle. Click here for information on how to achieve points.
- Plus more in 2010.
Please note:
--You must be a member of IHDA in order to be eligible.
--IHDA President, Vice-President and Board Members are not eligible to receive any of these proceeds.
--Committee members and Regional Representatives are eligible due to the dedicated volunteer work and time they give. (Committee and Regional Reps do not have a vote in any IHDA issues, which allows for them to be elibible.)
Access to the "Member's Only" area
Access to the "Member's Only" area of this website which gives you the ability to:
- Receive a weekly newsletter delivered to your email address with all of the latest hustle events and news.
- Access to public discussion forum with other IHDA members
- Ability to participate in surveys and polls that influence IHDA event decisions as well as reviewing the results of the surveys.
Awards Resume
As a member of the IHDA, all awards you win at IHDA sanctioned events will be retained in your official IHDA awards resume. You can chose to share this info with other member or the whole Internet community
Competition Points
IHDA National Points Competition Awarding the Top Male and Female Professional and Amateur Competitor and Top Teacher.
This system will award points to individuals who compete and place in the categories listed below. Points will be accumulated throughout the year. Points will only be awarded at IHDA Sanctioned Events. All competitors must be IHDA members in order to compete at these events and earn points. The Amateur Male and Female with the most points and the Professional and Top Teachers will be awarded cash prizes. Points will be recognized in the following categories for both Professional and Amateurs:
Pro/Am Showcase, Theater Arts and Classic
First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 4 points
Third Place: 3 point
Pro/Am Divisions (Newcomer, Novice, Intermediate, Advanced & Silver)
First Place: 3 points
Second Place: 2 points
Third Place: 1 point
Open/Classic/Theatre Arts:
First Place: 10 points
Second Place: 8 points
Third Place: 6 points
Just Hustle:
First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 3 points
Third Place: 1 point
Jack and Jill:
First Place: 3 points
Second Place: 2 points
Third Place: 1 point
Book Ends:
First Place: 5 points
Second Place: 3 points
Third Place: 1 point
Member Discounts
- Attend certain IHDA sanctioned events and receive a discount of $10-$20 off the full event package.
- Discounts on IHDA merchandize such as the IHDA t-shirt and Baby Doll tank top.
- Discount on the Bronze level Syllabus Manual.
Membership Cards
Membership Cards will be issued for all members. These cards will be useful when registering at events, attending the Meet and Greet and more. Please be sure when siging up your mailing address is accurate in order to receive your cards.
To Become a member
There are no restrictions to become a member. Just love the dance Hustle or just love to dance. If you are an amateur the fee is $10, as a professional the fee is $20 or for a Studio membership the fee is $30 for a full calendar year of your signup date.
